1986 Original. The Woodentops were a British indie rock band formed in the early 1980s by Rolo McGinty. Their debut album, "Well Well Well..." was released in 1986 and was produced by Pat Collier. The album was a critical success and spawned several hit singles, including "Plenty", "Good Thing", and "Why Why Why". The band's sound was a unique blend of indie rock, post-punk, and folk music, with prominent use of acoustic guitars and percussion. The Woodentops were known for their energetic live performances and their use of unconventional instruments, such as a washboard and a marimba.
