The Trinity Session
1999 180gm Audiophile Vinyl Reissue From Classic Records. Comes Housed In A Laminated Jacket. This Is The First Pressing From Classic Before They Switched To The 200gm Pressings. "The Trinity Session" Is The Second Studio Album Of The Canadian Alternative Country Band Cowboy Junkies. It Was Recorded In One Day On November 27, 1987, At The Church Of The Holy Trinity In Toronto, Canada. The Album Was Produced By Peter J. Moore And Released In 1988.

The Recording Of "The Trinity Session" Was An Experimental Project. The Band Was Invited To Perform At The Church For The "Toronto Winter Garden Theatre's" Cowboy Junkies "Trinity Revisited" Show In 2006. The Band Decided To Record The Album Instead Of Rehearsing For The Show. The Band Set Up In A Circle Around One Microphone And Played Acoustic Instruments, Resulting In A Warm, Intimate Sound That Complemented The Hauntingly Beautiful Songs.

The Album Includes Covers Of Songs By Artists Such As Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, And Patsy Cline, As Well As Original Songs Written By The Band Members. The Album's Standout Track Is The Band's Cover Of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane," Which Became A Hit Single.

"The Trinity Session" Received Critical Acclaim And Helped Establish Cowboy Junkies As A Respected Alternative Country Band. The Album Has Since Been Included In Numerous "Best Of" Lists And Is Considered A Classic Of Its Genre. The Album's Success Led To The Band's Appearance On Several Tv Shows And A Tour With U2.
