The One Giveth, The Count Taketh Away
Sealed 1982 Original With Custom Hype Sticker On Shrink. Two cut outs. The One Giveth, The Count Taketh Away is a funk and soul album released in 1982 by legendary bassist Bootsy Collins. The album features contributions from some of the biggest names in funk at the time, including George Clinton, Maceo Parker, and Fred Wesley. The album's title is a reference to Collins' longtime collaborator and friend, James Brown, who was known as "The Godfather of Soul" and famously declared that "The One" (referring to the first beat of a measure) was the most important aspect of funk music. The One Giveth, The Count Taketh Away features Collins' signature funky basslines, as well as his playful and humorous lyrics.
