"The Best Of 1980-1990" was a commercial success, reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart and number 31 on the US Billboard 200. The album has since been certified platinum in multiple countries.

U2 has continued to release new music and tour extensively since the release of "The Best Of 1980-1990." The band has won numerous awards throughout their career, including 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band in history.
