The Album Was Recorded In Just Two Weeks At Modern Recorders In Redwood City, California, And Was Produced By Neil Young And David Briggs. It Features A More Aggressive And Hard-Edged Sound Than Young's Previous Albums, With Heavy Guitar Distortion And A Focus On Driving Rhythms.

Despite Receiving Mixed Reviews Upon Its Initial Release, "Reactor" Has Since Been Recognized As A Cult Classic And A Favorite Among Neil Young Fans. It Includes Some Of His Most Enduring Songs, Such As "Opera Star", "Shots", And "Surfer Joe And Moe The Sleaze".
