Oily Rags
Sealed 1974 Original. Shortly Before They Adopted The Billing Chas & Dave, Chas Hodges And Dave Peacock Recorded A Self-Titled 1974 LP Under The Name Oily Rags. At The Time Of The Album, They'd Been Working Mostly As Songwriters And Session Musicians, But American Producer Bob Thiele Was Impressed Enough With Their Talents To Record An Album With The Duo. Like Country Pie's Self-Titled 1971 LP On Which Hodges And Peacock Had Worked, Oily Rags Was Heavily Indebted To The Work Of Late-'60s/Early-'70s Jerry Lee Lewis, Though It Was Far More Laid-Back Than The Country Pie Album.” All Music Guide - Richie Unterberger
