Izitso
1977 UK import original gatefold. Strong VG++ copy, with piece of tape along spine so the original owner was able to add artist and title by hand as the spine of the jacket appears not to have that typical information printed on it! "Izitso" is the tenth studio album by British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens, released in April 1977. The album marks a blend of Stevens' folk-rock style with the emerging electronic music of the time, incorporating synthesizer elements that were somewhat new to his sound. "Izitso" includes tracks such as "Remember the Days of the Old Schoolyard," which features a nostalgic theme and became a modest hit, and "Was Dog a Doughnut," an experimental piece showcasing Stevens’ exploration into electronic music. The album reflects a period of transition for Stevens, both musically and personally, as he was on the path toward converting to Islam, which he would eventually do in 1977, adopting the name Yusuf Islam.

Critically, "Izitso" received mixed reviews, with some praising the innovative use of synthesizers and the eclectic mix of styles, while others were less enthusiastic about the departure from his earlier, more acoustic-heavy work. Despite this, the album managed to secure a place in the charts, demonstrating Stevens' enduring popularity. "Izitso" stands as a testament to Cat Stevens' willingness to evolve and experiment within his music, bridging his classic sound with the burgeoning electronic influences of the late 1970s.
