Roy Acuff Was One Of The Pioneers Of Country Music In The 1930s And 1940s. He Was Born In Maynardville, Tennessee, In 1903, And Began His Career As A Musician In The 1920s. Acuff Rose To Fame In The 1930s With His Band, The Smoky Mountain Boys, And His Hit Songs, Such As "Wabash Cannonball" And "The Great Speckled Bird".
During The 1940s, Acuff Became One Of The Most Popular Country Music Performers In America, And He Continued To Record And Tour Throughout The 1950s And 1960s. "Greatest Hits/ Volume Two" Was Released During This Period, And It Featured Some Of Acuff's Most Popular Songs From The 1940s And 1950s, Such As "Fireball Mail", "Night Train To Memphis", And "Freight Train Blues".
The Album Was A Commercial Success, And It Helped To Cement Acuff's Status As One Of The Leading Figures In Country Music. Acuff Was Later Inducted Into The Country Music Hall Of Fame In 1962, And He Continued To Perform And Record Music Until His Death In 1992.
