Sealed 2008 2LP Remix In Gatefold. The album was produced by Gus Dudgeon, who had worked with John on his previous albums. The album was recorded at Château d'Hérouville in France and released on October 5, 1973. It was a commercial and critical success and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.

The album features some of John's most well-known and enduring songs, including "Candle in the Wind," "Bennie and the Jets," and the title track "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." The album also includes a variety of musical styles, ranging from blues and rock to country and soul.

In 2003, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was also ranked number 91 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
