Tiny Cut Corner. “Formed By Ex- Raspberries Scott McCarl And Ted Myers Formerly Of Boston Psychedelic Legends Ultimate Spinach, Glider Released Just One Album That Didn't Exactly Set The World On Fire. Other Players Of Note On The LP Are Drummer Eddie Tuduri Who Was Previously With UK Rockers Boxer And Following Glider Would Join Up With The Under Rated Wha-Koo And Their Final Album 'Fragile Line'. A Guest Appearance From ELO's Hugh McDowell On One Track And String And Synth Arrangements By None Other Than Chad Stuart; One Half Of The 60's British Duo Chad And Jeremy Round Out This Fine Effort. Musically, This Is Light Pomp In The Style Of Alexis Only With Far Better Material As Well As Windy City Favorites Styx Without Ever Getting Too Bombastic. The Material Was Written Exclusively By Myers And There's Some Very Good Songs Here Including The Opening Cut 'Midnight Flyer' With Some Very Pompy Background Vocals And Keyboards, Fitting Perfectly With The Bands Image On The Back Cover Dressed In White Satin Finery And Questionable Hair Styles! Only In The 70's! For Some Reason I Am Reminded Of Queen On 'It's Too Bad'. Musically, Nowhere Near Freddie And Company But The Vocal Style And Lyrics Are Something I Could Definitely Hear Mercury Giving A Try. Bustin' Out' And 'On The Line' Are Straight Rockers And Really Not Outstanding, Since It's Songs Like 'Lost Horizon' With The Lyric 'High In A Castle Of Clouds Looking Down On The Sky, Hearing The Music Of Love That We've Known All Our Lives' (Look Out Starcastle!), The Playful Baroque Of 'Leaving Our Troubles Behind' And The Epic 'High Flyers' That Glider Excelled.
