Fuzzy Mountain String Band
Fuzzy Mountain String Band
1972 US Original; Label Variation With More Elongated Band Name Across Label. “This Was The First Full-Length Album Appearance For This Large-Scale Old-Time String, Based Out Of Durham, NC, And Featuring, For The Most Part, Well-Educated College Graduates Playing Music That Generations Prior Had Been Performed By Farmers And Laborers. It Was Also Quite An Early Release In The Rounder Legacy; In Fact, It Was The First Double-Digit Number In The Label's Catalog. The Musicians Are Wonderful And Bring Their Great Love Of The Genre To The Performances Without Fail, And It Is Without Question A Lively Sound With Double Fiddles, Double Banjos, And The Interesting Dulcimer Style Of Vickie Owen. The Original LP Presents 20 Different Traditional Pieces, Each Of Which Is Explained And Documented As To Source In The Extensive Liner Notes.” AMG - Eugene Chadbourne.
