However, "Fireworks" was a departure from his previous releases, featuring a more rock-oriented sound with elements of funk and soul. The album was produced by Rick Jarrard, who had worked with Feliciano on his previous albums. It was recorded at RCA's Music Center of the World in Hollywood, California, and released on RCA Records.
