Sealed 1974 Gatefold Original. First Pressings Came With A Poster. Featuring Original Words-Often Risque, Sometimes Ribald, Double-Meanings Intact, As Written By Cole Porter. Tiny Drill Hole & Corner Rubs. "Director/Screenwriter Peter Bogdanovich Doesn't Have Much Of A Résumé As A Record Producer, But He "Directed And Produced" Cybill Shepherd's Cybill Does It...to Cole Porter Back In 1974 When He Was Her "Svengali" And Boyfriend. Andy Mckay Reissued The 1974 Paramount Records Release On Mca With The Original Liner Notes And Credit Notations Intact -- Except To Point Out That The Information Was Composed "A Decade Prior To Ms. Shepherd Achieving Stardom On The Television Series Moonlighting." And Poor Mastering Engineer Greg Fulginniti Has His Name Spelt A Fourth Way Here (It Is Alternately Listed As "Fulginiti," "Fuginiti," And "Gulginiti"). But With All That Out Of The Way, How Does Cybill Shepherd Rate As An Interpreter? Well, That's Open To Interpretation Because Shepherd Has Her Tongue Firmly In Cheek, And Cavorts Through These Classics Like A Kid In A Candy Store. She's Here To Purchase, Not To Sell. The Liner Notes Are Ultra-informative With Artie Butler's Strong Conducting And Arrangements The Real Treat. All The Lyrics Utilized Are "Unexpurgated," Taken From The Book Cole, Faithfully Portraying The Double Entendres Porter Poured Into His Work. The Liner Notes Claim That The Material Had Previously Been "Laundered" For Radio And Retail. Cybill Cuts The Parody On "Anything Goes" And Proves She Has A Voice To Go Along With Her Pretty Face, But For The Most Part, This Is The Up And Coming Personality Having Some Fun. Bogdanovich Worked With Artie Butler, Arranger For Helen Reddy, Barry Manilow, The 5th Dimension, And So Many Others, On The Film What's Up, Doc, Which Included Music From Cole Porter. Certainly Not The Definitive Versions Of The Man's Music, But Campy, Fun, And Extremely Informative.
