"This enjoyable collection of holiday favorites combines a solo guitar session with a trio date including bassist Luther Hughes (who worked alongside Eschete for a long stretch as part of the Gene Harris Quartet) and drummer John Perett. A solo take on "Winter Wonderland" best showcases Eschete's incredible technique, though his lyricism is best apparent on "Christmas Song." A driving trio rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" even incorporates licks from "Eleanor Rigby," while "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is played as a brisk samba. Recommended."
